Release Engineer (San Jose, CA)

Are you the kind of person that does not just do their job, but does it well -- really well? Do you enjoy a challenge, thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and have a passion for building software? If so, join Veritix. Veritix is currently looking for a Release Engineer who is going to play a key role in defining and building our next-level build/release process. This position is going to automate our current deployment process and manage various customer-deployed builds. In addition, this position will also work closely with the development team to create and maintain unit test framework for our product.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in Release Management (NAnt, MSBUild, MSI, InstallShield, etc
• 5+ years experience in deploying on Windows Platform, Internet Information Server, and SQL Server (or any other databases)
• Experience in developing unit test frameworks (JUnit or NUnit)
• Experience in developing automated build system: daily builds/acceptance test with build tools such as NAnt, Ant, etc.
• Experience in Microsoft.NET platform and Visual Studio.NET
• Experience in various source control system
• Experience with Windows CE, PocketPC, .NET Compact Framework is a plus
• Some experience in object-oriented concepts working with all application tiers would be a big plus

Senior Database Engineer (San Jose, CA)

Veritix is currently looking for a highly-technical, Senior Database Engineer who will play a key role in a team that is building the next generation fan life-cycle management services for the sports and entertainment industries. Veritix patented system provides electronic ticketing, simplified entry for events, and reduced costs and increased revenues for the teams, venues, and artists. We are a rapidly growing, well funded company with customers and our solutions are revolutionizing the industry. We are looking for a passionate and talented database engineer with experience building highly scalable web, e-commerce, and enterprise software systems.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Comp Science or Engineering preferred
• 5+ years experience managing Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC)
• Qualified candidate must have in-depth Oracle experience with installation, configuration, performance tuning, high availability, backup/restore and application development for enterprise class systems
• Extensive experience and knowledge of Oracle on UNIX and/or Windows platforms for an enterprise application
• Experience working with SQL Server Database technologies (Mirroring, Log Shipping, Replication, etc.)
• Extensive knowledge on DBMS kernels with distinguished achievements on database query optimization
• Experience in successful performance tuning on both OLTP and OLAP environments
• Proven track record in building and operating highly scalable/performing/24x7 web-enabled database applications
• Experience in playing a critical role for production database maintenance and monitoring

Responsibilities

• Responsible in design, analysis, development, troubleshooting, debugging and maintenance of enterprise, high-volume, transactional systems
• Play a critical role in system architecture, design, and development of the database layer
• Establish coding standards for stored procedures, triggers, and logical and physical schema design, document and enforce them within the development staff
• Work with system architects to improve existing OLTP model, transaction cost reduction, and increase the overall data throughput
• Tune SQL queries and database performance for OLTP and DSS applications within the development environment
• Participate in design and code reviews, documentation of design, implementation of methodologies to ensure high quality software

Veritix Network Operations is seeking a highly technical NOC Specialist for 24x7x365 Operations Center. Responsibilities include proactive monitoring, preventative maintenance, level-I response, alarm validation, tier-I/II support, and escalation.

Qualifications and Requirements

• BS or MS in CS/CE or MIS preferred or equivalent experience, certification and training
• Must be comfortable working in a high stress, fast paced environment with shifting priorities
• 3+ years’ technical experience with High Availability (HA) 24x7 mission-critical and geographically distributed networks
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong knowledge of Windows Servers (Windows 200x, Exchange, SQL), and Linux
• Working knowledge of networking concept (OSI, Routing, Switching, Firewalling, Load-Balancing, etc.), and protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, HTTP, etc.)
• Ability to create technical documentation, reports and metrics
• Ability to work three-shift schedule, weekends, and travel
• Ability to respond to mobile and pager notifications 24x7
• CCNA/CCNP/CCIE and/or MCSA/MSCE a plus

Responsibilities

• Proactive and continuous monitoring of all network infrastructure, applications and services; ensure quick and effective response to an outage per NOC policies, processes and procedures
• Contribute to improving NOC policies, processes and procedures.
• Ensure timely response to NOC and Help Desk tickets; ensure accurate and detailed incident tickets, and postmortem analysis
• Contribute to software deploys, equipment installation and routine maintenance

Product Manager (Dallas, TX and San Jose, CA)

Veritix is currently looking for a talented Product Manager to work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to develop and grow the product functionality and strategy. The successful candidate will demonstrate end-to-end ownership of opportunity identification and assessment, product design and specification, project management and product marketing. The individual must be data and metrics driven, possess strong customer and partner relationship skills, business and technical savvy, and the ability to champion initiatives across the company and market.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management experience in enterprise software with solid track record of developing and launching successful web-based or consumer products
• A broad understanding of the marketplace and industry trends in enterprise and consumer software
• Experience managing software products through the entire life cycle from initial requirements gathering through to product release, forecasting and rollout
• Strong technical background
• Understands how to apply principles of consumer product design to B2B applications
• Experience writing user stories, product requirements, or similar technical requirements documents
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly analytical, data-driven
• Understands how to visualize and present complex data
• Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Proven track record of defining product requirements on schedule and shipping successful products
• B.S. or B.A. required, ideally in Computer Science or other technical field, MBA preferred
