Director of Human Resources - Veritix (Cleveland, OH)

Veritix, a venture-backed, computerized ticketing company and information technology company, is looking for a talented Director of Human Resources to lead and manage the Human Resources (HR) department. . This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced, leading edge organization in the dynamic sports and entertainment market space. We are seeking a Director of Human Resources to become a key member of an experienced executive management team. The Director of Human Resources will set department strategy and be responsible for its execution. This position will be in charge of the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the company's Human Resources department. The Director will be responsible for coordinating all HR policies and programs, with emphasis in, but not limited to, recruitment and employment, benefits administration, recordkeeping and compliance, and team member relations. Experience with a multi-state work force, including California is required. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years experience in human resources and benefits administration.

Job Responsibilities

  • Administer HR services including, but not limited to, recruitment and selection, promotions, transfers, federal, state and local compliance, performance evaluation, and team member relations
  • Manage the hiring process, including recruitment and interviews
  • Develop and manage new hire orientation and follow-up program for new team members to assure understanding of the organization and its culture
  • Develop, implement, and maintain personnel policies, procedures and team member handbook, and distribute throughout the organization
  • Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting HR management
  • Participate in the investigation and resolution of ongoing team member relations problems, anticipate problems whenever possible, and develop, recommend and initiate appropriate steps for resolution
  • Design and administer benefit plans
  • Research labor laws and employment issues
  • Process newly hired employees
  • Communicate with other departments regarding all facets of Human Resources
  • Maintain highly confidential information
  • Work closely with finance team in processing payroll

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably with special focus in Human Resource Management
  • At least five years' experience in Human Resource management
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, particularly those relative to employment/employee relations in CA, OH and TX
  • Ability to effectively manage Human Resources services for employees at multiple office locations
  • Working knowledge of basic principles and best practices in HR administration
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Experience in entrepreneurial, early stage environments a plus
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations that affect benefits (e.g., COBRA, FMLA, ERISA)
  • Ability to travel to various company locations throughout the U.S. as needed
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification is a plus

Job Responsibilities

  • Make cold calls from provided lists
  • Handle all incoming sales calls from sales prospects
